Children with ASD, ADHD, ADD, and typical developing children are at risk for nutrition problems such as nutrient deficiencies, drug-nutrient interactions, food allergies, food sensitivities, gastrointestinal disorders, feeding problems, and picky eating.  Special diets, whole foods, supplements, herbs, and mealtime strategies are used to treat and resolve nutrition problems.  However, parents are overwhelmed with the massive amount of nutrition information obtained from support groups, the press, the Internet, and other sources.  Parents need help from a RDN to guide them through the maze of confusing nutrition information.  Recognizing this need, Elizabeth formed ASD Nutrition with the goal to educate professionals and empower parents to make informed decisions regarding appropriate nutritional interventions for their child.
